ISSUE: Child slavery
BACKGROUND: After hearing news reports about child slavery in
the United States and abroad, Elementary school students at
St. Bernard’s School become concerned about the issue.
PROJECT
STEPS
- Researched the issue of child slavery
- Invited a Humphrey
Institute fellow who is from Bangladesh and has worked on
the issue of child slavery for Unicef to talk to the group
about
child slavery
- Planned symposium on child slavery at the school
to increase awareness of the issue
RESULT: Held a symposium on child slavery at the school. |
